We’re checking our data

The Sainsbury’s Pension Scheme will soon be contacting members so that we can keep our records up to date.

There will be two separate data-checking exercises, run by different companies on behalf of the Trustee:

  1. We’ll be writing to pensioners overseas to ask you to complete a proof of identity check. We realise it can feel intrusive to be asked this, particularly if you’ve been in receipt of a pension for many years. However, the Trustee has a duty to safeguard the Scheme’s assets by ensuring we only pay benefits to those people who are entitled to them. This exercise is being run by a company called XPS Group.
  2. We’re also running an ongoing member tracing exercise, to find scheme members we’ve lost contact with – usually because they’ve moved and not told us their new address. This exercise is being run by a company called The Tracing Group.

So, if you receive a letter from either XPS or The Tracing Group, please be assured that this communication is legitimate and respond to it as quickly as possible.

These exercises do not affect members of the Sainsbury’s Retirement Savings Plan.
